Burning Wheel: Fall of Magic
Karaz Ang is one of the older and more venerated of the great Dwarven Holds. Literally translated as "Enduring Iron" from Dwarvish, it was so named because of the peculiar veins of iron found within the great mountain. When worked in proper Dwarvish fashion by skilled artificers, it lasts for much longer than traditional iron – making it an excellent base for weapons and tools.
In the past few centuries however, Karaz Ang's craftsmen have started to rely more on their reputation than actual handiwork. Engorged with gold and overpowered by their greed, Forge Masters and Clan Lords have begun mixing in inferior iron stock, resulting in goods barely better than Mannish craftsmanship. While the craftmarks of Karaz Ang may still hold some weight, newer productions do not call the same frenzied bidding that an ancient sword of the same make may – oftentimes the older one is in better condition as well.
Recently the site of a bloody raid by Witch-Queen forces attempting to prevent further access to the iron reserves.
